My interests are mainly in cognitive neuropsychology, but also in social neuroscience. This includes the neural basis of cognitive aging, i.e. the relationship between aging, brain activity and cognitive performance. The methods of focus are mainly electrophysiological (ERPs), structural (volumetric MRI) and hemodynamic (fMRI) measures, and how these relate to behavioural measures.
In the future I hope to extend my studies to include plasticity and cognitive training in pathological, normal and successful aging. A current overarching motivation is the clinical application of basic research in cognitive neuropsychology.
I also have a newfound concern in neuroethics and how it addresses ethical challenges in memory research.
